GE FANUC IC697CHS791D

The IC697CHS791 is a 9-slot, front mount PLC rack in the GE Fanuc series. The IC697CHS791 front mount rack is compatible with all IC697 PLC module types. The IC697CHS791D rack is mounted in a standard 19” rack. This rack is designed for use of the CPU and I/O configurations. All slots on the IC697CHS791 rack are 1.6” wide in exception for the power supply slot, which is 2.4” in width. The IC697CHS791D rack is equipped with slot sensing, which is necessary for rack-type I/O modules created for the IC697 PLC. Rack-type IC697 high density I/O modules are housed in the IC697CHS791D’s 9-slot racks. The modules use a wiring terminal board, and each I/O module capacity can be up to 40 AWG wires. The group of wires is driven through the terminal board cavity where a cleat is provided to secure the wires to the terminal board housing. In the mechanical keying process, to avoid unintended swap of one module type for another, a key is designed for each module type. Once the module is inserted into the IC697CHS791D rack, the key will latch onto the middle rail of the rack where it will stay once the module is removed. The rack slots are designed for the correct module type to be placed in that slot. If the module needs to be moved to another location in the rack, the key can be removed by pushing upward. This will release the latch. When there are several racks in a system, all racks receive a number between 0-7 with the CPU rack always being 0. Four binary -programmed jumpers located on the IC697CHS791D rack’s backplane are the derived point for the PLC determination of the numbers for each rack.
